Chicago's 38th Annual Pride Parade hit the streets of Boystown on Sunday, June 24. The 250+ parade entries enjoyed the boisterous, high-energy crowd on the streets as they made their way North from the corner of Halsted Street and Belmont Avenue to the intersection of Halsted and Broadway, then South on Broadway to Diversey, ending at Diversey and Cannon Drive.
Dance music thumped, politicians waved, dykes rode their bikes, feather headdresses were adorned, clothing was shed, drinks were consumed, rifles were twirled, paraphernalia was dispersed, flags were waved, beads were tossed, dancers danced (in showers, in tubs, in foam, in Speedos), and expression was freed.
Nobody paid any attention to the hate-preaching protesters, so I won't mention them at all.
